In our tour to the Embera community we learned about the cultural manifestations of this tribe. Handicrafts are essential as a way of subsistence for the community. The Emberas elaborate multiple objects with the fiber of the palms that they cultivate. Natural colors extracted from trees or fruits are adhered to the fibers. Masks, baskets, dishes, etc. are made entirely by hand and takes from 15 days to two months of work depending on the complexity of the object.
Monkey Adventures Panama organizes tours to the Embera community where you will be able to appreciate all the handicrafts that this community elaborates not only of palm but of other materials such as different screens or metals.
